Community Engagement & Facilitation
Community engagement and facilitation is most successful when it is designed to do meaningful work while making the highest and best use of individual and organizational time. It is most easily accomplished when individuals and organizations understand the fundamentals of collaboration and culturally responsive leadership practices. When these understandings are present they manifest as people working to actualize a shared vision and collective destiny.
When I work with individuals, organizations, and communities my goal is to have everyone exercise a willingness to collaborate, distribute power, and actively listen for shared goals, values, and experiences. I facilitate conversations and activities designed to build trust, interrupt silence, and create moments, momentum, or movements in service to the greater good.

"I met Daveda through her leadership work with the Healthy King County Coalition, and hired her as a consultant years later while employed with the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development. As a consultant for the City, we asked her to provide facilitation and community engagement support for Seattle’s Central Area business community. Hiring Daveda and her team was the best decisions for our project. She analyzed data and investments in the district that helped us refine our goals. When it came to community engagement, her natural talents to design and implement an inclusive process was uncanny.
Out of her efforts, the Central Area Collaborative – an innovative business organization – blossomed with hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants received to-date, resulting in lasting positive impacts in the community. Daveda's joy and alacrity makes each project I've worked with her on fun and invariably successful. She is a critical piece for sustainable and equitable results."
