Communications and strategic planning is most successful when it is comprehensive, nimble, and responsive to the needs and experiences of the people or organization it is meant to guide. While it manifests as a document, it should function as a guidance tool against which day-to-day decisions are influenced, progress is measured, and new opportunities considered. Communications and strategic planning, and their associated products, should provide clarity, promote stability, and inspire confidence in individuals, initiatives, and organizations.

"I had the pleasure of working with Daveda Russell and Soul Light during a year-long period of Department-wide mission/vision setting and strategic planning. Daveda and her team devised an inclusive process that incorporated the diverse thinking of a large staff as we explored our values, priorities and hopes and dreams for the Department. As the process unfolded, Daveda and her team gently wove in strategies and practices that pushed our team's comfort level, thinking, and ways of interacting with one another.
